Story that tells

This product is born frow the straw of the piassava palm and is responsible for generating income for many families in Sauípe, Bahia, Brazil, as well as for its maintenance in this region.

Palm straw is extracted in the forest by women themselves, sustainably, and is braided in their homes or at the headquarters of the Association of Artisans.

The piassava braiding technique is passed on from generation to generation and carries the history and affections of the families, descendants of indigenous people and quilombolas.

The straw goes through nine processes between collection, boiling, drying and braiding, until it turns into beautiful baskets, bags and hats! Unique and exclusive!
